Effective July 3, 2018 the amount of Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC) appearing on your bill each month will decrease as a result of a decrease in the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) universal service fund contribution factor from 18.4% to 17.9%. The amount of the FUSC on your bill is calculated in accordance with FCC rules by applying the new universal service contribution factor of 17.9% to the rates of interstate services that you used.
The federal universal service fund helps to ensure access to affordable communication services in all areas of the United States.
